A cosy corner of Amanda Colours where we colour together, swap happy mail, and make creative connection feel easy (and low-pressure).

Everything currently open and upcoming lives right here.

A surprise thank-you gift, made by the colouring community 💛

I’m so excited to host the Community Gift Book Project again — an international buddy colour where we each colour a small piece, and together we create two complete colouring books to gift to the illustrators as a surprise community thank-you.

It’s one of the most joyful projects I’ve ever run. There’s something genuinely magical about seeing all the different styles and colours come together when the halves are reunited.

How It Works

  1. You sign up using the form linked below.
  2. I’ll carefully prepare the books by scanning every page, then cutting the illustrations in half.
  3. I post you one envelope containing your assigned half-pages (usually 4 halves).
  4. You colour your pieces within the project window.
  5. Before posting them back, you take a photo or scan of your finished halves (this is important in case mail goes missing).
  6. You post your halves back to me, and I reunite everything and rebind the books.
  7. The finished books are gifted to the illustrators, along with a letter and a list of participants.

The books we’re working on this year

This round we’re creating two community gift books:

Kawaii Coloring Book — Alexandra Franzese

Moonlight Mischief — RJ Hampson (first set of 25 illustrations)

Both books are single-sided, so any mediums are welcome (markers, pencils, gel pens, mixed media, etc.).

SHHHHHH… don’t tell the illustrators! It’s a surprise!

Timeframe & Commitment

Because this is an international snail-mail project, it runs over a few months.

To make sure the books can be completed and posted to the illustrators by late November (so they arrive during December), participation includes a few important commitments:

  • You’ll check your email at least weekly (email is the only project communication channel).
  • You’ll colour your assigned halves within the project window.
  • You’ll photo/scan your finished halves before mailing them back.
  • You’ll post your pieces back by the return-by deadline.

This project is meant to feel cosy and doable, not stressful. If life happens, the key thing is simply letting me know early so I can reassign pieces kindly.

How Many Spots are Available?

To keep this manageable and ensure a smooth finish, spots are capped.

If the form closes, it means all places have been filled for this round.

A Gentle Note

By signing up, you’re agreeing to receive email updates from Amanda Colours for this project only (no pressure, no spam — just the updates needed to keep the project running smoothly).

A few gentle guidelines…

This space is meant to feel safe, kind, and cosy.

  • Be encouraging and respectful (always).
  • No pressure to “keep up” — life and health come first.
  • Share what you’re comfortable sharing.
  • Credit artists/book creators when posting pages.

We colour with heart around here. 💗
